What to Eat to Stabilize Insulin During Menopause

What’s the best diet for menopausal insulin stability?

Let’s talk.

Low levels of estrogen predispose menopausal women to insulin resistance.

Insulin resistance means vital cells are not open to receive insulin as it escorts glucose for energy production. This leads to high insulin and blood sugar levels which is repackaged by the liver into triglycerides for storage in your fat cells.

Low menopausal estrogen coupled with high androgen-to-estrogen ratio increases visceral adiposity. Adiposity is highly inflammatory fat stored around your abdominal organs. Visceral fat leads to high triglycerides, lower protective HDL, increased blood sugar, and elevated blood pressure.

Classic signs of dangerous metabolic syndrome.

Eat a Plant-Based Diet to Stabilize Insulin

The absolute best diet to stabilize insulin levels during menopause is plant-based. A diet that is low in starchy carbs, rich in healthy fats, and provides adequate protein.

I developed an insulin-resistant diet for my menopausal patients. All to stabilize their blood sugar and insulin levels, reduce their HGBA1C, and visceral fat. You can get access to my insulin-resistant diet, by signing up for my free Hormone Reboot Training

My insulin-resistant diet is based on the proven Mediterranean diet. It restricts sugar and starchy carbohydrates, avoiding all processed foods and caloric beverages.

Basic meal plans are included to make sure you’re getting adequate amounts of protein for your lean body mass and adequate healthy fats, particularly polyphenols-rich EVOO. The Mediterranean diet is rich in anti-inflammatory plant foods. It has been shown across multiple studies to reduce HGBA1C, insulin levels, and body fat as well as reverse markers of metabolic syndrome like high blood pressure, elevated triglycerides, cholesterol, LDL, and low HDL.

Support Your Hypothalamus

Your hypothalamus controls your metabolic rate (how fast you burn energy) as well as your glucose metabolism.

In order to stabilize insulin levels in menopause, your hypothalamus must function optimally. Supporting your hypothalamus nutraceutically with Genesis Gold® has helped my menopausal patients reverse their insulin resistance.
