Are you tired, run down, gaining weight? Do you suffer from brain fog, low motivation, constipation? Finally, after all these years living with a sluggish metabolism has your blood panel revealed low thyroid levels? Or worse, your doctor says your blood work looks fine. How can that be when you clearly have symptoms of hypothyroidism?

Well, your blood work may be within normal limits but it’s not your normal.

I like to look at my patients’ bloodwork through the lens of whether or not their hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis is functioning properly. Remember it’s a negative feedback system. Take a look at the graphic…

If your thyroid hormones T4 or T3 are low than your TSH will be high indicating hypothyroidism. And visa versus. If your T4 or T3 is high than your TSH will be low indicating hyperthyroidism.

BUT if your TSH is not responding to changes in your thyroid hormone production that is clearly miscommunication in the HPT axis.

If you’re thyroid is low, then your doctor will probably prescribe Thyroid Replacement Therapy (TRT).

But you may develop a lifelong dependency on thyroid hormone replacement therapy. And if you have autoimmune thyroiditis, your antibody levels take a very long time to normalize if ever using conventional therapy.

And worst of all, after starting thyroid replacement therapy, you’ll only feel better for a few months. That’s because taking hormones your body should be making does not address the root issue nor does it improve your cells’ uptake of thyroid hormone.

Supporting your hypothalamus is the only way to clear up the miscommunication and get your thyroid functioning normally. If you want to know what I recommend for my hypothyroid patients, comment below and I’ll post a link.

Your thyroid function is highly dependent on healthy adrenal and pancreatic function. The hypothalamus which is the maestro of the entire neuro-immune-endocrine system produces master hormones that orchestrate the symphony of hormones in the body. It is your hypothalamus which tells your pituitary gland what to do.

One hypothalamic hormone called proopiomelanocortin (POMC) breaks down into thyroid releasing factor which controls the pituitary production of thyroid stimulating hormone. POMC also controls the adrenals, glucose metabolism, your day-night cycles and endorphin production. Sex steroids can also influence thyroid function and thyroid hormones in turn influence ovarian and testicular function.

Since the thyroid does not function alone, supporting the entire endocrine system is crucial.

HORMONE HEALING TIP:  FEED YOUR THYROID

A healthy diet rich in essential fats (avocados, fatty fish, olive oil, flaxseed) helps to enhance cell membrane function so that thyroid hormone can get into your cells.

Daily consumption of a colorful array of fruits and vegetables provides necessary antioxidants to help detoxify the effect of antithyroid antibodies.

Sea vegetables provide necessary iodine and other trace minerals to enhance healthy thyroid hormone production.

Genesis Gold is fortified with sea vegetation to help optimize your thyroid function.
