In terms of your gut and exercise, too little and too much is individual. I have had patients that exercise a lot, like triathletes and they have colitis. They have an inflamed gut where your bowels move frequently. When I used to do triathlons myself and I was in the really high level of competition, I would make sure I had a bowel movement before I started a race. Exercise can get things going, sometimes urgently. I have a lot of patients who have that issue with irritable bowel syndrome too. You do probably need to empty your bowels before you go out and try to run 20 miles.
Yet the other factor is if you are exercising really hard for a long period of time and you are not taking any rest, your cortisol levels are so high that your gut gets inflamed easily and you may have some urgency. Even fecal urgency – meaning you have got to go immediately and it may even be a little diarrhea because your gut is inflamed. If exercise induces diarrhea in you, you are doing too much.
Overtime Genesis Gold® will help calm down your irritable bowel.
